Are American citizens allowed to travel to Iran?
Yes. Iran issues visas for Americans, Canadians and Europeans who wish to travel to Iran.

How long does it take to obtain a visa?
Approximately four to six weeks.

What do I need to do to apply for a visa?
You will need to submit a copy of the first page of your passport to Solh Tours, fill out an application that I will send to you, and I will take care of the rest.

Will there be an orientation in advance of departing for Iran?
Yes, orientation material will be sent to each traveler.  Also, you are encouraged to stay overnight in Amsterdam on the way to Iran.  There will be an evening orientation for the group in Amsterdam, and this stay also helps to overcome jet lag.


How easy is it to travel in Iran for an English speaking person?
English is prevelant at airports, street signs and store signs are mostly in Farsi and English. English is the second language of choice in Iran.

Will you personally be accompanying every tour?

Yes, I personally accompany every tour. Additionally, English speaking national and local guides assist the tour in Iran.

What is the typical size of a tour?
The typical group size is 20-25 people.

Do you offer custom tours?
Yes, a custom tour can be designed to fit your needs - whether for a group of friends, for a non-profit organization, or for an educational institution.

Would we all fly to Iran together?
Yes, groups fly into Tehran together and depart Tehran together.  We gather in Amsterdam and also stop in Amsterdam on the return.  Some tour members may choose to spend time in Europe either on the inbound or outbound flights of the tour.   

What is the best time of the year to visit Iran?    
The best time is in the spring or fall when the climate is moderate. April, May, October and November are the busiest months for tourism.

Are the hotels equipped with Western style toilets?                         
Yes, all the hotels we stay at are equipped with Western style toilets.


Would there be access to internet connection?
                            
Yes, all the hotels we will stay at have internet connection.

Would we have phone access to the U.S.?                                     
Yes, there will be a cell phone available during the day to call overseas at a small fee or you can call from your hotel room at a higher rate.

What is the dress code in Iran?
Men can dress as they do in the U.S. or Europe except for wearing shorts. Short or long sleeve shirts and casual pants are fine. Women need to wear a scarf and a long jacket or shirt that extends below their waist line. Long pants or long skirts are also appropriate. In the orientation package there will be more information regarding the dress code and photo references as well.

How would air travel be arranged?
You are welcome to use your own travel agent or I can have the travel agency I work with make all the arrangements for you.

Where would we exchange money?
It will be easy to change money in Iran at banks or money exchange places. 
The exchange rate is nearly the same at either place.

Can I use a credit card in Iran?
Iran has a cash economy and credit cards are very rarely used. It is best to use cash.

Can I use an ATM in Iran?
No. The ATMs in Iran are not connected to the international ATM system and are only used for local banking.

Is it safe to travel in Iran?
Yes, it is very safe. There is very little petty theft. As in most big cities, people need to be more cautious in Tehran. 

Are there any health concerns?
